Dean D. Baker founded Quantalyst in 1993 and continues as the firm's Managing Director.
Dean has led a variety of engagements that have extended across the consumer, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and distribution sectors. Prior to founding the firm, he held senior positions in process and financial analysis in specialty chemicals, finance and banking. While with an investment firm, he was instrumental in the development and deployment of purchase order financing for select high-growth companies. He is active on various boards and nonprofits including past elected officer and treasurer of The Pewabic Society, a former client and a chapter board member of the American Production and Inventory Control Society. He holds certifications as a CMA (Certified Management Accountant) and CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Manager).
Dean makes regular presentations before professional societies including the Institute of Management Accountants, the American Production and Inventory Control Society and others on cost accounting techniques, pricing strategy and related topics. His articles have been published in The Journal of Corporate Renewal, Management Accounting and The World Batch Forum.
